I really didn‘t expect
his terrific success at his first exhibition
because I still thought he is too skinny. I
also thought his coat could be a bit more.
All the more I’m happy about his success. I
still have the picture of him in my mind
when I picked him up in Denmark. And this
was only two months ago, and he changed so
much already, and probably will change as
well some time soon…
At the first day Cover
became two times Best Variety and was
nominated for Best in Show. At the second he
also became Best Variety, was nominated for
Best in Show, became Best in Show and became
in the end also Best of Best, of 61 Maine
Coons. We are both so proud of him.
In the Jury’s report
is written:
Elongate, on high and
athletic legs standing tomcat, ex. muscular,
image very good, chin forceful, good cheeks,
eyes very good in form and bigness, ears big
and good placed, ex. coat’s quality in
length and texture. All in all a beautiful
energetic tomcat.
And there is also his
absolutely gentle character. He is so easy
to present. He is as cool as a cucumber.
This tomcat is just a dream.
I really thank you
Anita that you made this possible.

Undercover came to us
by a roundabout. More precisely, we owe his
moving-in to an unfortunate accident.
Actually he was, like his brother Uncle Sam,
sold to Denmark for breeding. His breeder
(Anita Beyer, of the Cattery Summerplace)
asked me for picking up Undercover by order
of her and his brother, who fares badly at
the current owner, and for taking them both
in temporarily. Eventually I drove to
Denmark and collected Undercover and Uncle
Sam. They were both very scruffy and skinny.
I took care of their physical welfare and
arranged with Anita that she would book a
flight to Hamburg next week to pick up the
tomcats. But unfortunately she could only
take one tomcat along in mid-air, and we
decided that for the present one tomcat
remains with us to geld him and to find a
lovely place for him. But I already fell in
love with Undercover because he is such a
dear cuddler who doesn’t get frightened by
anything and would give everything for a
cuddle. He is always and everywhere present
and he does never get worked up. So I gave
Anita Sammy and kept Undercover. But I
didn’t like the thought of castration and of
the handing over. Fortunately I could
persuade her that I could keep Undercover
for the time being uncastrated. If he
further on behaves that nice and
uncomplicated, we hope for – after a little
increase in weight and a bit caregiving –
beautiful and loving young generation of
him. I thank you so much, Anita, for the
cuddly type Cover, and also for the trust in
me. |
